Autism Friendly Open Mic Set for March 26 at The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center

The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center, in partnership with Band Together Pittsburgh, will host an autism friendly open mic session, an opportunity for those on the autism spectrum to perform music or other creative endeavors such as comedy or poetry, on Sunday, March 26, from 2 to 5 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public, and this first open mic of the year at The Theater builds on last year’s success.
Longtime Pittsburgh musician John Vento and other members of Band Together will facilitate this event for anyone who wants to sing (including karaoke), play an instrument, tell jokes, do impressions, just say hello or see what it’s all about. While the event is free, Band Together requests RSVPs at www.bandtogetherpgh.org so that complimentary snacks can be provided.
Mics, keyboards, guitars, amps and percussion will be available. Band Together’s goal is for all individuals to realize the joy of creative expression regardless of talent or skill level. Open mic events, and sensory friendly screenings and concerts at The Lindsay are designed to make cultural activities inclusive and accessible.
