DESCRIPTION:Hear from a Sewickley resident who worked on Steven Spielberg’s latest alien epic!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you missed John “Buzz” Moyer’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 introduction last month\, here’s your next chance to hear him talk about a major film he worked on! \n\n\n\nThe Sewickley native is a longtime Hollywood veteran who recently served as a steadicam operator on Disclosure Day\, Steven Spielberg’s alien thriller that starts playing at The Lindsay on Friday\, June 12. \n\n\n\nMoyer will introduce The Lindsay’s 8 p.m. Disclosure Day screening on Friday\, June 19. This talk will begin at 7:30 p.m.\, and the showing will start promptly at 8 p.m. He’ll discuss his career\, a steadicam operator’s actual job description and what it’s like to shoot a Spielberg film. \n\n\n\nDisclosure Day is Spielberg’s return to extraterrestrial-related cinema. The film’s title refers to a potential turning point in human history brought about by a whistleblower’s efforts to unravel a massive government conspiracy and reveal the existence of alien life. This highly anticipated summer release stars Emily Blunt\, Josh O’Connor\, Colman Domingo and Colin Firth. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMoyer is a Sewickley Academy and Ithaca College graduate who has been working in the camera departments of major film and television productions since the late 1980s. His long list of credits includes 1995’s Sudden Death\, 1999’s Dogma\, 2006’s Rocky Balboa\, the HBO drama Boardwalk Empire\, 2012’s The Avengers\, 2017’s The Post\, 2021’s In the Heights and 2025’s The Housemaid.  \n\n\n\nHe has previously regaled Lindsay audiences with stories from his time on the sets of 2021’s West Side Story remake\, 2023’s Pittsburgh-shot dramedy A Man Called Otto and this year’s The Devil Wears Prada 2. Moyer also worked on two other major 2026 releases: Coyote vs. Acme\, a live-action Looney Tunes adventure; and How to Rob a Bank\, a Pittsburgh-filmed heist thriller. \n\n\n\nA member of the Society of Camera Operators\, Moyer proudly serves on the board of governors\, nominating committee and education committee. Also a member of the Steadicam Operators Association\, he instructs and mentors young and newly invested steadicam operators.  \n\n\n\n“The mentoring part is very important\,” Moyer told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 2021. “I have to give back. If someone gets inspired and wants to continue or do a career in the business\, I’m happy to be a part of that to open their eyes to it.”
