This talk will begin at 7:30 p.m.\, and the showing will start promptly at 8 p.m. He’ll discuss his career\, job description and the process of shooting a live action/animation hybrid. \n\n\n\nCoyote vs Acme is famous for being shelved by Warner Bros. before finding theatrical distribution three years later. Wile E. Coyote finally sues Acme Inc. after years of their products literally blowing up in his face. He enlists accident lawyer Kevin Avery (Will Forte) to go up against slick Acme attorney Buddy Crane (John Cena). \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMoyer is a Sewickley Academy and Ithaca College graduate who has been working in the camera departments of major film and television productions since the late 1980s. His long list of credits includes 1995’s Sudden Death\, 1999’s Dogma\, 2006’s Rocky Balboa\, the HBO drama Boardwalk Empire\, 2012’s The Avengers\, 2017’s The Post\, 2021’s In the Heights and 2025’s The Housemaid. \n\n\n\nHe has previously regaled Lindsay audiences with stories from his time on the sets of 2021’s West Side Story remake\, 2023’s Pittsburgh-shot dramedy A Man Called Otto\, and this year’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Disclosure Day. Moyer also worked on How to Rob a Bank\, a Pittsburgh-filmed heist thriller hitting theaters on Nov. 13. \n\n\n\nA member of the Society of Camera Operators\, Moyer proudly serves on the board of governors\, nominating committee and education committee. Soldier. Prisoner. is an internationally acclaimed film from Bloomfield-raised director Steve Mancini. It focuses on Italian prisoners of war captured in North Africa and Sicily who ended up at Letterkenny Army Depot outside of Chambersburg\, Pa. Their fairly short stay left an impact on that region that is still felt today. \n\n\n\nMancini’s film will play at The Lindsay on Thursday\, Sept. 3\, at 7:30 p.m. He will be on hand for a live filmmaker Q&A immediately following the screening. Tickets are free\, and RSVPs are recommended in advance via the below sign-up form due to space limitations. \n\n\n\n“The film shows that the people of Chambersburg were so kind that to this day\, the families of the prisoners still make trips to visit\,” says Mancini. “It’s a way of remembering their fathers and grandfathers\, and also a display of appreciation because of how kindly those communities treated their fathers and grandfathers.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFedeltà chronicles the prisoners’ journey from war to peace\, leveraging original documents and footage from numerous sources. It’s a moving and hopeful film that depicts how this difficult situation turned into a prime example of community-building that left a lasting\, positive mark on Chambersburg. \n\n\n\n“After more than 80 years\, people who have never been here still speak well of our community\,” says Mancini. “How incredible is that!” \n\n\n\nMancini spent 20 years in the military before returning home to Pittsburgh. In addition to filmmaking\, he hosts two podcasts—Talking Business and Life (formerly Italian Impact Weekly) and The Unlikely Catholic— and serves as an assistant professor of computer and information systems at Robert Morris University. \n\n\n\nHis formative years in Pittsburgh’s Little Italy inspired him to pursue documentary projects such as Fedeltà. He eventually forms an alliance with fellow captives to fight back. As the Black Pirate\, he infiltrates the Pirate Captain’s ship\, engaging in daring sword fights and acrobatics.  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe film’s cast also includes Billie Dove as Princess Isobel; Anders Randolf as the Pirate Captain; Donald Crisp as the one-armed pirate MacTavish; and Sam De Grasse as the Pirate Lieutenant. \n\n\n\nThe Pittsburgh Silent Film Festival is showing a 4K technicolor restoration of The Black Pirate. It was restored by The Museum of Modern Art and The Film Foundation in Cooperation with the British Film Institute.
