FRZY HOSTS BLACK PANTHER CELEBRATION
Emmy-winning Artist to Host Black Panther Sneak Preview Celebration
Be in the first wave welcoming the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to The Lindsay Theater.
Theater and Grammy Board member Harvey “FRZY” Daniels will host a sneak preview celebration on Thursday, Nov. 10, for the long-awaited sequel that Variety calls “Marvel’s most poignant and powerful film.”
In partnership with the Equity | Impact Center, FRZY invites the community to join him, artists and entrepreneurs in celebrating the Black community before the screening begins at 7 p.m.
Plan to arrive early to browse vendors and hear musicians perform, starting at 5 p.m.
Everyone attending the Sneak Preview is encouraged to wear white in honor of revered Black Panther (2018) actor Chadwick Boseman, who was in Pittsburgh in 2019 to film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and passed away a year later.
Vendors participating in the celebration include Black women involved in the Ujamaa Collective, which operates a brick-and-mortar fair trade marketplace for cultural, artistic and entrepreneurial exchange in the Historic Hill District.
Also in the house will be:
- DJ FEMI, a singer/songwriter/cellist/pianist who has been in mixing hip-hop and electronic dance music in Pittsburgh for a decade, and was invited to the 2019 South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin
- Leigh Solomon Pugliano, president and chief executive officer of the Equity | Impact Center, which provides capacity building, leadership development and organizational development support to advance social justice missions.
Attendees are reminded that space is limited, and tickets for this Sneak Preview are expected to sell out. Tickets can be purchased in advance online. Don’t miss out! Word from early reviews is that it’s worth your while to stay through the credits.
