Emerging Filmmakers Showcase: The Voices

Celebrate Pittsburgh’s film industry by checking out works created by 15 local filmmakers!

March 13 @ 7:00 pm

This free event will take place on Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m. Nine locally made trailers and six short films will be screened. The evening will conclude with a Q&A featuring some of Western Pennsylvania’s premier filmmaking talent.

The Voices was curated by Wes Fisher, a McKees Rocks-based filmmaker whose work will also be part of the program. He’ll participate in the Q&A alongside fellow regionally based creatives David Ogrodowski and James Harland Lockhart IV.

“It truly moves my heart to see all these projects come together like this,” Fisher says. “There’s so much talent that took part in them, and it’s important to me to showcase their work.”

The six short films that will be shown during The Voices include:

War Between States: A Civil War colonel’s worldview is challenged by a Confederate soldier. Directed, written and edited by Jesse Hutchins of locally based RedSlate Films. (18 min)

Ember: A man discovers a horrific family secret while preparing to propose. Directed by Kevin Kukler and David Ogrodowski; written by Ogrodowski; produced by Fisher. (14 min)
