Facilities

The  Lindsay offers an 11,800-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility built in 2017 for daily screenings and special programming including cultural performances, exhibits and other events and exhibits, earning Pittsburgh Magazine’s praise as “one of the city’s best movie theaters.”

Inside a spacious, sleek lobby, guests purchase tickets and concessions at a one-stop customer service center. The two screening rooms, flexible event/performance area and entrances to the building are fully accessible. In addition to men’s and women’s restrooms, the Theater has a private, unisex/gender neutral restroom that can accommodate wheelchairs and families (with a diaper-changing station).

AIR QUALITY

In 2020, the Theater enhanced its ventilation with state-of-the-art HVAC technology that continuously delivers fresh outside air throughout the entire building, completely turning over air 5 times per hour, far exceeding the commercial recommended minimum. Before reaching the screening rooms, air passes through electrostatic dual ionization purifiers that kill 99.4% of viruses (including COVID-19, MRSA, SARS and the common cold) plus bacteria and molds, and minimizing allergens and pollutants.

Inside the screening rooms, air flows in vertical columns instead of sweeping horizontally across rows of seating, reducing potential spread of contaminants and delivering cleaner, healthier air to our guests.

GREEN SPACE

Theater facilities are constructed on land owned by Sewickley Borough through a long-term lease agreement involving only the building, which is owned by this nonprofit, and the adjacent sidewalk. All other parts of the property, including the entranceway and the Walnut Green park and facilities are under the management of Sewickley Borough. Questions about use of this space should be directed to borough offices.

PRIVATE RENTALS

The Theater prioritizes serving the public at large, making special accommodations to serve schools, nonprofits, organizations, groups and corporations.

If you are a filmmaker wishing to screen your work, please reach out to [email protected], as the Theater operates the Emerging Filmmakers Showcase, a program specifically created to accommodate the region’s artists.

During its low season, the Theater is occasionally in a position to rent facilities for private events, but these opportunities are rare and with significant date and time constraints.

Group celebrations such as birthday parties can be accommodated by sitting together at a public screening when the Theater is contacted in advance. Groups of 10 or more are always eligible for discounted tickets ($8.75). In addition, payment for a concessions tab can be pre-arranged with management.
