Facilities

The  Lindsay offers an 11,800-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility built in 2017 for daily screenings and special programming including cultural performances, exhibits and other events, earning Pittsburgh Magazine’s praise as “one of the city’s best movie theaters.”

AIR QUALITY

In 2020, the Theater enhanced its ventilation with state-of-the-art HVAC technology that continuously delivers fresh outside air throughout the entire building, completely turning over air 5 times per hour, far exceeding the commercial recommended minimum. Before reaching the screening rooms, air passes through electrostatic dual ionization purifiers that kill 99.4% of viruses (including COVID-19, MRSA, SARS and the common cold) plus bacteria and molds, and minimizing allergens and pollutants.

Inside the screening rooms, air flows in vertical columns instead of sweeping horizontally across rows of seating, reducing potential spread of contaminants and delivering cleaner, healthier air to our guests.

GREEN SPACE

Theater facilities are constructed on land owned by Sewickley Borough through a long-term lease agreement involving only the building, which is owned by this nonprofit, and the adjacent sidewalk. All other parts of the property, including the entranceway and the Walnut Green park and facilities are under the management of Sewickley Borough. Questions about use of this space should be directed to borough offices.

PRIVATE RENTALS

The Theater can accommodate up to 200 people in its spacious Esmark and Bouchard Community Room, a flexible space filled with natural light.

However, as a nonprofit with a mission to strengthen cultural, educational and entertainment experiences, the Theater prioritizes service to the public at large via partnerships with schools, nonprofits, organizations, groups, filmmakers and corporations.

Rentals for private events such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other personal celebrations are not currently available. Numerous mission-driven events and regular daily programming occupy the full bandwidth of the Theater staff.

If you are a school or nonprofit: Please reach out with details of your event to hello@thelindsaytheater.org.

If you are interested in hosting a group outing: The Lindsay can accommodate your group sitting together at a public screening if contacted in advance. Groups of 10 or more are always eligible for discounted tickets ($8.75). In addition, payment for a concessions tab can be pre-arranged with Theater management. The Community Room currently is unavailable for these celebrations. Please email hello@thelindsaytheater.org for group screenings.

If you are a business or corporation: On a case-by-case basis, depending on your flexibility regarding date and time, the Theater may be able to accommodate a corporate group event. The rental fees for such events follow market rates. To explore this possibility, please email hello@thelindsaytheater.org.

If you are a filmmaker: Be assured that one of the Theater’s prime objectives is to support the film industry and, in particular, local and historically under-represented filmmakers. Please visit our webpage for the Emerging Filmmakers Showcase, then email hello@thelindsaytheater.org with as many details as possible.

In summary, private rentals for individual celebrations are not currently available.
