“Grandpa and Shorty” (51 minutes) is a family-oriented drama about a 70-year-old grizzled war veteran, fighting to reconnect with the civilian world and his estranged soldier son, when he unexpectedly has to babysit his 7-year-old granddaughter for the day. As they survive the day together, this unlikely duo helps each other understand the American ideals of self-sacrifice and duty. The goal of this film is to highlight the emotions and drama that military families struggle with every day.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Jeff Balmert and writer John Rokosz of White Ball Productions.
