Pittsburgh-area movie theaters embrace ‘Wicked’ premiere

The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center in Sewickley is also gearing up for its next three weeks of Wicked showings.

According to director of communications, Josh Axelrod, as of Friday evening the Lindsay’s 7 p.m. Friday showing of Wicked had sold 169 tickets, a number expected to fill its largest theater. The movie is slated to play there through Dec. 12., over which time there are plans for visits from schools and musical groups as well as celebrations, he said.

“We’re really excited for people to come watch Wicked with us, see our state of the art facilities and technology, and to interact with our really awesome crew members and management team,” Axelrod said. “The fact that we’re out in Sewickley and we’re getting this kind of interest, I think that says a lot.”
