7 Things to Do in Pittsburgh This Weekend

Some movies stay perfectly fresh as the decades roll on. Whether you grew up with The Sound of Music or discovered it as an adult, it will still linger with you; even after 80-plus years, Frank Capra’s Arsenic and Old Lace is just as funny as it was in 1944.

Both of those films are part of The Lindsay Theater’s loftily (but accurately) named Summer of Timeless Classics, during which the Sewickley theater will revive favorite films from throughout the 20th century.

They’ll show the beloved Italian Oscar winner Cinema Paradiso, which is something of a house favorite at The Lindsay, this Thursday night (and again August 14). Other films in the lineup include The Goonies and It Happened One Night.
