Local Pittsburgh Theaters Find Success with ‘Wicked: For Good’ and Other Big Films

The first Wicked movie was The Lindsay’s highest-selling film ever, according to theater director of communications and media relations Josh Axelrod. Wicked: For Good is on pace to perform similarly at the venue.

Two opening weekend showings sold out the Lindsay’s 169-seat theater and enthusiasm has not waned, Axelrod said. With the release of Zootopia 2 on Wednesday and Wicked: For Good still selling strong, this weekend will be “packed,” he said.

“We always expect the big box office draws to bring people in from around the region who may not have stepped foot in the Lindsay before,” Axelrod said. “Somebody might come in to watch Wicked: For Good, realize that this is their new favorite theater and then they just keep on coming back.”
