Sean Collier’s Movie Events Guide for April and May in Pittsburgh

The Spirit of ’76 with Sewickley Valley Historical Society

The Lindsay Theater, April 30

The Lindsay Theater wraps up its series of events in honor of America’s 250th with a bit of an oddity. The Spirit of ’76 is a sci-fi comedy about a visit from time travelers: A group of history seeking explorers from the year 2176 aim to visit America’s founding, but miss it by 200 years and wind up in the groovy ’70s.

Lucas Reiner who is the son of Carl and brother of Rob, both of whom appear in the film, directs this feature. Plus, it’s co-written by the director and Roman Coppola. Sewickley Valley Historical Society programs this series and will be on hand at the screening.
