Friday, Aug. 7: West Point Ballet Summer Showcase at The Lindsay, 6 p.m.
West Point Ballet closes out its five-week summer program with a free Summer Showcase at The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center in Sewickley. Students from the Coraopolis-based dance studio will perform classical ballet, contemporary dance, musical theater and partnering, giving families a chance to see what young dancers have been working on all summer. The showcase is a one-night event from 6-8 p.m., and admission is free with no tickets required.
Saturday, Aug. 8: Sensory friendly screening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day at The Lindsay, 10 a.m.
The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center in Sewickley is hosting a sensory friendly screening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The screening offers a more relaxed moviegoing environment for families, children and adults impacted by autism or other special needs. In the film, an adult Peter Parker faces the mental and physical pressures of life as a full-time Spider-Man. Tickets are $8.75.
