An Evening with Marie Benedict: ‘Daughter of Egypt’ Launch

March 21 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Sewickley’s own Marie Benedict is returning to The Lindsay to celebrate the launch of her latest novel!

The prolific local author’s new novel, Daughter of Egypt, will be available for purchase on March 24. It follows a young archaeologist obsessed with unearthing the truth about a forgotten female Pharaoh.

The Lindsay is partnering with Benedict and Penguin Bookshop for another book launch event on Saturday, March 21, at 7 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale via Eventbrite.

Benedict will engage in a conversation about the book and her research process. The discussion should last for approximately one hour, and will conclude with a Q&A from the audience.

Advance registration is required for admission. All tickets come with a signed copy of Daughter of Egypt, which will be available for pickup during check-in for the event.

Daughter of Egypt transports readers from the glamor and turbulence of 1920s Britain and Cairo to the sands and lush shores of ancient Egypt. A mysterious Pharaoh captures Lady Evelyn Herbert’s imagination and inspires her to search for the tomb of Egypt’s first woman ruler—which rewrites both of their legacies forever.

Benedict is both a lawyer and New York Times best-selling author who has published more than a dozen novels. Her literary calling card is historical fiction that illuminates the stories of real, complex and fascinating women.

A huge crowd gathered at The Lindsay last year to watch Benedict talk about her 2025 novel The Queens of Crime. Now, her adoring fans have another chance to hear from their favorite author!
