The Lindsay may be celebrating ’90s films this summer, but we couldn’t get through 2026 without showing Cinema Paradiso!

This Oscar-winning coming-of-age drama will screen at The Lindsay on Thursday, July 2, at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, July 12, at 1 p.m. Tickets to both showtimes are on sale now!

Cinema Paradiso is writer-director Giuseppe Tornatore’s semi-autobiographical tale about growing up in a small Sicilian town. Salvatore Di Vita (played by multiple actors) is a famous director who, as a child, formed a tight bond with local film projectionist Alfredo (Philippe Noiret). Upon hearing news of Alfredo’s death, Salvatore reflects on those formative years as he prepares to return home for his friend’s funeral.

The Lindsay has been showing Cinema Paradiso annually for most of its nine-plus years of operation. Shady Ave Magazine recently declared that “Cinema Paradiso has become something of a signature film for The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center.”

“It’s really exciting to watch people watch that film for the first time,” Lindsay CEO Carolina Pais-Barreto Thor told Shady Ave Magazine. “It’s just a fantastic film, and it became a perennial.”
