Emerging Filmmakers Showcase: ‘MAXX: SON OF THE DAMNED’

November 6 @ 7:00 pm 10:00 pm

The Lindsay’s only November Emerging Filmmakers Showcase is the perfect way to close out the Halloween season!

Maxx: Son of the Damned is a locally made fantasy saga from Pittsburgh-based 3.B.T. Productions. This dark coming-of-age tale is centered around Maxx (Caleb Bartholow), the first natural-born warlock in centuries, and the evil forces who want to use his powers for mass destruction.

An early version of this film will screen at The Lindsay on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. This showing will be immediately followed by a filmmaker Q&A. The event is free, and The Lindsay recommends that all attendees use the form below to RSVP in advance due to space limitations.

Maxx: Son of the Damned was written and directed by 3.B.T. co-founders Xayne Allen and Delaney Hathaway. Following his 21st birthday, Maxx discovers that Eve (Amy Lyn Elliott), the first woman, and her followers want to use his magical abilities to bring about the apocalypse. With Maxx’s haunting past catching up with him, will he choose to save humanity or destroy it?

“This film is the perfect way to close out spooky season,” says Allen. “It’s dark, thrilling and packed with that eerie magic that lingers long after the credits roll.”

Hathaway and fellow 3.B.T. co-founder Charlie Gray both appear in Maxx: Son of the Damned. The largely local cast also includes Christina Chickis, Stephanie Swift, Brian Ceponis, Naomi Terrell and Erika Krenn.

“Fans of indie cinema should be thrilled to join us for this special first look,” says Allen. “They’ll get to experience the film before it’s complete and play a part in shaping its final cut alongside the cast and crew.”
