The Lindsay’s Inaugural Favorite Patron
Barb Pace has more than earned the honor of being The Lindsay’s first-ever Favorite Patron!

To recognize patron loyalty and enthusiasm, The Lindsay has launched its annual Favorite Patron Award, presenting the first honor to Barbara Pace from Ross Township. She will receive an unlimited year-long pass for two to the Theater.
“In this season of gratitude, we wanted to show appreciation to our patrons,” says Lindsay CEO Carolina Pais-Barreto Thor. “Senior citizens are a core demographic of the Theater, and we are humbled by the passion our guests share for this nonprofit.”
Barb, 84, a longtime guest and inaugural Favorite Patron, remains upbeat despite 27 surgeries over her lifetime and is fervent about The Lindsay, her theater of choice. Because she doesn’t drive, Barb relies on her good friends to bring her to The Lindsay, sometimes spearheading groups of nearly a dozen ladies scattered across the region.
Friends joke that they get more daily emails from Barb than any business. These emails, punctuated with her trademark zeal and humor, include her thoughts on films and the cinema experience. Most recently, Barb and friends visited The Lindsay to watch Wicked: For Good—which happened to be the sequel to the very first film she ever saw, The Wizard of Oz.
She highlights The Lindsay as “walker friendly,” and is a big fan of Wednesday’s open caption options. After her Nuremberg open caption screening, two dozen friends and the Theater received her emailed thoughts about the film and experience.
“When our team considered instituting this award, Barb was the obvious choice,” says Thor. “Her encouragement, tight hugs and warm presence always enliven our days.”
For Barb, a film must be followed by critique and laughter. Movies, music and humor “are my elixir of life,” says Barb, a mother, grandmother, former family caregiver and anti-pollution activist. “Like some men are sports fanatics, I love movies and music.”
