Allegheny Sport & Outdoor Film Festival

Allegheny Sport & Outdoor is a Pittsburgh-based film festival celebrating sport, outdoor culture and adventure documentary films with a special emphasis on stories from Western Pennsylvania, Northern Appalachia and the Mid-Atlantic region. Founded in 2023, ASOFF showcases talented athletes, teams, and outdoor clubs alongside passionate local and international filmmakers. This program showcases four documentaries: “We Ride” (65 min.), following three cyclists from Pittsburgh Youth Leadership endeavoring to cycle across America; “To Be The Man” (3 min.), which focuses on Michael “Gagz” Gagliardi’s battle for a 5th consecutive win at the Loopy Looper 12-hour Endurance Race; “First Waves Beaver County” (5 min.), documents the expansion of the Watersmith Guild's groundbreaking youth environmental education program into the Beaver and Ohio River valleys in the aftermath of the ethylene cracker plant's penalties for pollution; and community engagement; and “Heaven on Earth” (15 min.), featuring Pittsburgh’s Highland Park Tennis Club--which has been offering free summer lessons since 2000 to promote the sport--in preparation for the 2023 season.
