Tonight’s program features director/co-writer/producer Steve Rudzinski’s "CarousHELL" trilogy, screening in its entirety for the first time in the US. Rudzinski–whose accolades include a Fangoria Chainsaw Award (Best Amityville, 2023) and the 2023 Pittsburgh City Paper “Best Filmmaker,” among others–presents “the greatest trilogy about a sentient carousel unicorn (Duke) trying to raise his half-human son.” Throughout the series Duke leads plenty of bloody rampages, battles with Nazis using dark magic, and learns some valuable life lessons provided by fatherhood. This horror/slasher/comedy is equal parts hilarious, heartwarming and bloody. Screening as part of The Lindsay’s Emerging Filmmakers Showcase, the trilogy boasts a primarily regional cast and crew including co-writer and co-producer Aleen Isley; director of photography and editor Scott Lewis; SFX designer Cody Ruch; composers Stevo Bortz and Mike Trebilcock; and co-producer Rebecca Rinehart.
The total run time is 220 min. and includes brief intermissions between films.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Rudzinski and others involved in the project.
This event is free to the public but reservations are recommended as space is limited.
