Tina Romero Continues Her Family’s Zombie Legacy in ‘Queens of the Dead’
While Tina Romero’s upcoming film is much different than her father’s Night of the Living Dead, she hopes the audience can feel his spirit within it.
Queens of the Dead does have one thing in common with George A. Romero’s iconic thriller—a zombie apocalypse. But this film features drag queens, club kids and frenemies who have to put aside their personal dramas to battle the brain-thirsty undead.
The 41-year-old director who lives in New York City is set to debut the film to the public at The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center on Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m., as part of the 2025 Thriller Picture Show. Then, on Oct. 24, the movie premieres across the country in theaters, something Tina Romero described as “truly surreal.”
