Saturday, April 12: Sensory-friendly screening of A Minecraft Movie at The Lindsay Theater, 9:45 a.m.

The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center in Sewickley is hosting a sensory-friendly screening of A Minecraft Movie this weekend. A sensory friendly screening offers the option for families, children and adults to watch films together by lowering the volume, dimming the house lights and having a door open to restrooms and the lobby throughout the film. Staffing levels are increased to ensure a personal, unhurried cinematic experience. Tickets are $8.75.

Sunday, April 13: Chasing Childhood documentary at The Lindsay Theater, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Sewickley Unplugged’s Spring Kickoff event will take place this Sunday. It will include a screening of the documentary Chasing Childhood from 1 p..m to 2:30 p.m. and a local youth organization fair from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Chasing Childhood is an 80-minute documentary in which psychologists, activists and leaders of the “free play” movement advocate for allowing kids to have less curated childhoods.
