Valley Care Foundation Aging Seniors Series: Documentary Showing & Talk

The Lindsay is launching the Valley Care Foundation Aging Seniors Series, supported by the Sewickley-based Valley Care Foundation, with an exclusive documentary screening and panel discussion centered around the joys and struggles of aging.
The film Two Strangers Trying Not to Kill Each Other is playing multiple times during Documentary Series 2026 (Sept. 11-24). It follows married artists Maggie Barrett and Joel Meyerowitz as they navigate love, aging and their creative processes.
The 1 p.m. Two Strangers screening on Thursday, Sept. 24 will be free for everyone 55-and-over. All guests 55-and-over who attend that showing will be asked to provide their zip code upon arrival—and that’s it! Attendees under the age of 55 can purchase their tickets at the Theater or in advance for $11 each.
This screening will be introduced by Valley Care Foundation board member Patrick Colletti. After it concludes, attendees are invited to a panel discussion in The Lindsay’s Community Room featuring:
• Moderator Karen Ferrick-Roman, a recent Lindsay Theater retiree.
• Dr. Chris O’Donnell, a Valley Care Foundation board member and accomplished geriatric physician.
• Trish Hooper, CEO of the Sewickley Valley YMCA, which provides resources via Senior Central.
• Dr. N. Graham Standish, executive director of Samaritan Counseling, which provides senior counseling
services.
Two Strangers follows Barrett, a struggling novelist, and Meyerowitz, a successful photographer, who met later in life, fell in love and married. Now in their golden years, the couple grapples with creative fulfillment and their own mortalities.
If you can’t make it on Sept. 24, Two Strangers will also show on five other occasions during this year’s Documentary Series.
