Azure Family Concerts: Monster Bash

Get in the Halloween spirit with a kid-friendly and spooktacular dance party!

October 18 @ 2:00 pm 3:00 pm

Azure Family Concerts, a program of Autism Pittsburgh, returns to The Lindsay in October to help folks of all ages start their spooky season on a high note!

Their Monster Bash Concert will take place in The Lindsay’s Community Room on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 2-3 p.m. This event is free, and Autism Pittsburgh kindly asks that attendees RSVP in advance via their website.

All Azure Family Concerts feature 45 minutes of live music, during which audience members are welcome to sit, stand, walk around, dance and more. Monster Bash attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite costume—plus their dancing shoes—as they enjoy a selection of classic Halloween songs.

Azure Family Concerts are designed for families, children and adults impacted by autism and other special needs. There will be a designated quiet space, nearby and easy to access. After the concert, attendees may participate in an “Instrument Petting Zoo” where they can learn more about, hold and even play instruments!

The Lindsay has been partnering with Autism Pittsburgh to host Azure Family Concerts since 2023. We have also worked with organizations such as as Band Together Pittsburgh, which has brought multiple sensory friendly Open Mic events to our Community Room.

The Theater has also been proudly holding sensory friendly screenings since 2017. We lower the film’s volume, keep on dim house lights, and have a door open to restrooms and the lobby throughout the film. Trailers are eliminated to reduce the necessary “sit time.” Staffing levels are also increased to allow a personal, unhurried cinematic experience for everyone.
